Gilbert Andrew Flores was born in Los Angeles, California in 1962. At 29, he changed course and entered Art Center College of Design to study painting and sculpture. He moved to New York City after receiving his BFA in 1994. Mr. Flores' fractured lines and floating discontinuous forms create ghostly afterimages remenissant of things and people seen in passing. His recent work places these images on pieces of canvas which are sewn together by hand. Mr. Flores has exhibited work in both solo and group shows in California.
