Joe Maller was raised in a master-planned community in Southern California, just outside the gates of Disneyland, he claims that he was born in New York City at the age of 23. An occasionally neurotic conceptual tinkerer, Joe's work is driven by a patient, yet anxious curiosity. Often working with and repeating common and ideal everyday objects, thoughts and situations; he uses his wit and ideas to transform them into commentaries and meditations about ourselves and our place in the world. He received his BFA in 1993.
